An experienced director since founding his first business to commercialise his PhD research in 2000, Ruan has held directorships in a number of organisations with various responsibilities including IT, Operations and overall management. Ruan has managed the development of products in the areas of Aerospace/Military, TV, Digital Signage, Digital Out of Home TV and Online and Digital Marketing, Food Traceability, Advertising as well as numerous systems for the internal management of organisations.
Ruan has had responsibility for the specification and implementation of digital marketing strategies and properties for business in many sectors and also founded a successful online trading company supplying high quality wood flooring consumers and business in the UK, Ireland and further afield.
Ruan holds a BSc in Computing and Mathematics and a MSc in High Performance Computing. Project customers have included NASA, BAe Systems, Philips Medical and Analog Devices, Virgin Active, David Lloyd, NHS as well as hundreds of SME's.
Ruan's experience also includes negotiation with corporate organisations, legal, financial and governmental as well as dealing with funding bodies, Angel, Venture, 3xF and governmental.
Ruan is an experienced public speaker and has lectured in Computer Science to degree level.
